Biography

Briana Peters is an employment law attorney in Southern California providing defense, advice, and counsel to businesses throughout California. With prior experience at a neutral investigations firm, Briana brings a wealth of knowledge in employment law issues, and as a litigator, has a strong track record in contested matters.

Ms. Peters has experience litigating cases in state court, in arbitration through final arbitration hearings, before the Labor Commissioner at the Department of Industrial Relations, and in mediations and other neutral settlement conferences. She has successfully handled final evidentiary hearings and arbitration proceedings and maintains an undefeated record.

Her practice includes single-plaintiff, class action, and PAGA matters involving claims of harassment, discrimination, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and contract disputes. In addition to litigation, Ms. Peters advises employers on navigating complex workplace issues and minimizing legal risk. Prior to litigation, Ms. Peters worked at a neutral workplace investigations firm, conducting workplace investigations for employers, and also interned for a judge in the California Superior Court.

Ms. Peters is a member of the State Bar of California. She serves on the University of San Diego School of Law Alumni Board, Orange County Chapter, and is a Board Member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Orange County Bar Association.

She is actively involved in the community and serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), mentoring and advocating for foster youth. She also volunteers to judge mock trial and moot court competitions, conduct mock interviews with students, and mentor students pursuing higher education and legal-related careers.

Ms. Peters earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science Data Analytics from the University of California, San Diego.

Alexandra Woods v. ASMB, LLC, et al. (LASC Case No. 24SMCV00292) (Defense award for Employer against former nurse who sought more than $250k in arbitration based upon failure to pay overtime, failure to pay minimum wage, failure to provide meal and rest periods, failure to pay wages upon termination, failure to issue accurate and itemized wage statements, and violation of Business and Professions Code section 17200.) (Award issued on December 18, 2025.)

Leola Pulliam v. iCare Hospice, Inc. (Labor Commissioner Case No. WC-CM-889092)r) (Defense award for Employer against former nurse who sought more than $10,800 in damages based on waiting time penalties from the California Labor Commissioner. Plaintiff awarded significantly less than amount sought and significantly less than settlement offer from Employer.)

Lucia Garcia v. ASMS, LLC> (LASC Case No. 24STCV01328) (Defense award for Employer against former nurse in arbitration based upon disability discrimination and related claims.)
